COMMANDS(1) COMMANDS(1)
NAME
ucomm wcomm - Departmental user and command accounting information.
SYNOPSIS
ucomm <user> [<date>(mmdd)]
wcomm <command> [<date>(mmdd)]
DESCRIPTION
These commands summarise command usage information from UNIX process
accounting data in a distributed machine environment. In our
department process accounting is run daily on all workstations and the
data files merged to provide a global command usage database.
ucomm shows the commands run by user on any departmental work-station.
The date option selects accounting data merged on a particular day
(accounting is run at 3 AM). In its output format ucomm is similar to
the standard HP-UX lastcomm command. Note though, that lastcomm only
displays commands run that day on the current work-station.
Starting with the most recent login session of user, ucomm shows for
each command run: command name, run-time duration, host name and start
time/date. wcomm uses a similar output format but shows who has been
running command.
The amount of command data that can be kept on-line is limited to the
current month: contact technical support if you want access to earlier
user command information.
