All documentation is under doc-d.  Read the XNotesPlus.README first, then
the INSTALL.dist.  

To summarize:
1. edit config.h (its easy)
2. xmkmf
3. make Makefiles
4. `make' or `make pkg' if you want to create an installable distribution
5. Either following the instructions in INSTALL.dist or unpack the pkg you 
   created with `make pkg' under a temporary directory (such as /tmp/xnotes) 
   and then run `install'.
