You can either install software onto your system using
swinstall(1M), or you can redistribute the software using
swcopy(1M) and others may then install the software
directly from your machine. Both actions require root access.
This applies to HP-UX 11.X only - swinstall(1M) is not supplied
as standard with HP-UX 9.X and we have now dropped support for HP-UX
10.X.
WARNING: All new packages (or updates to existing ones)
installed from 28th May 2002 onwards will have their binaries
in 11.X depot format only. You should be able to take the
source code and build it for 10.X, but this can no longer be 100%
guaranteed to work, since all our testing and building is now for
11.X only.
