Although HP-UX already has a "make" command, the GNU version understands a large set of additional rules and provides improved error messages. GNU make is now used to build all other packages on this site and hence should be the first package you build if you intend to compile other packages from their source code. It has been built and tested with HP's ANSI C and gcc 4.X. |
